(The poet is mourning the passing of a fellow amateur poet and dear friend.)

Yellow leaves
That is what
We all are now
Hanging on to
The dry branch
And hoping that
The next gust
Of autumn wind
Won’t be our last
For once we fall
We shall drift away
Never to see
Each other again
Yellow leaves
We will always have
Green memories
Of our youth’s spring
To inspire us
To hang on
For another day
“For once we fall
We shall drift away
Never to see
Each other again”
Satyen – while poets like you and Ramsubs may never see each other again after a transition, you leave behind an indelible legacy in the form of your poetry, thoughts, and blogs! Gratitude!

Nice poem. I recall meeting Ramsub and Uma in Mumbai at an IIT get-together, few years ago. Since past one year, have been enjoying reading the verses of Ramsub and Holmes.

Beautiful poem! I was reminded of a poem I had in my French test book in the school. It referred to the people who lost their power after the French Revolution and were relegated.
