For that matter one is never ready to go. But go we all must one day – ready or not. We can only hope that death will be kind – as you put it. No reason why he should be, though. We have for the most part lived pretty banal lives – mostly involved entirely in our own selfish cocoon without a care for the rest of the world. We can take courage in the fact that the soul lives on and what we leave behind in death is only the corporeal vessel that it occupied for a short while.
“The soul lives on and what we leave behind in death is only the corporeal vessel” is far from a fact, and is a weak consoling philosophical hypothesis, at best. It is better to live in acceptance that this is one and only one life that one can choose to live in the best way possible, than in a hope that the soul may be up to something after death.
There are more poems you have to write There are more nerves you have to strike There are many unshed tears that must flow ‘Tis not yet time for you to go ..
We are always ready to go; just we do not realize it. Have you seen how the world moves on seamlessly. Mother Nature perhaps has a much bigger plan that anyone of can even visualize leave alone comprehend.
Sir ji, I am small fry. The big plans Nature has for me are beyond my comprehension. Like the virus, I guess I am just trying to survive for as long as I can!
Death is an intriguing guest……………nicely portrayed
