Sway May 15th, 2021

Tender green shoots
Steal onto the dry
Branches of trees
Like when a young lover
Whispers a surprise
To her beloved

Red-yellow birds
Suddenly alight and croon
On my windowsill
Like when a gaggle
Of young teenagers giggle
For no reason

Sun and rain
Play hide and seek
Dancing on the leaves
Like when young children
Romp and gambol
On a school playground

I too forget
This troubled world and savor
This fleeting moment
Like when the radio
Plays your song and you
Shut your eyes and sway
